2 weeks ago I made a quick decision to take a trip back to Kenya. I felt strongly the Lord leading me to go. I bought a one-way ticket to go along with my friend, Bill Testa, one of my best friends from San Diego. Bill and I arrived last night in Nairobi.
Bill has a call and a burden to live in Africa. For the last year he has made preparations to leave the US and make the move. He is hoping to be in Machakos and possibly work with O and E and EAZM. I hope to help him with that transition.
I also have a number of things to discuss with O and E. Money is as tight as ever right now, so we have some hard decisions to make. We will be discussing finances and vision for the future. I’m going on this trip with very little agenda, other than accompanying Bill and making decisions with O and E about the future.
I’m sure the Lord will have more in store than I realize. I plan to be there as long as necessary and leave when the Lord says its time. Bill plans to remain in Africa.
Bo and Joanne will be arriving at the end of the month, so we will have 2 weeks before their arrival.
I would ask for prayer for wisdom and discernment in my time over there. This feels like a significant trip. And of course, prayers for protection as we go would be appreciated.
After the last visit, we sent money to complete a new small home (see below) for the 7 children on the property where O and E live. The previous space was too small and not up to code. I’ll send some better pictures when I get there.
Esther has taken in a new baby girl (below), so the children’s program is evolving. I hope to have a better understanding of that part of the ministry as well. I’m, of course, looking forward to meeting the new little one and seeing the other children.
Rains and flooding prevented O from picking us up last night, so we are currently waiting for him in Nairobi. I plan to post updates with more detail once I get to Machakos. Thanks for praying!
